Martha Metzner opened her own law firm, Martha D, Metzner Law Corporation, in the summer of 2009.

  • UBC Faculty of Law with strong academic qualifications
  • Practiced with a local Langley firm for several years, focusing on all areas of family law

Background

  • Originally from Ottawa, but has been a resident of British Columbia since 1972
  • Relocated in 2003 to Langley from West Vancouver, where she raised her family of three children
  • Prior to raising her children, was a successful realtor, and a consistent top producer in residential sales in the Kerrisdale Shaughnessy area of Vancouver
  • Turned to law school as a mature student
  • Represented herself in protracted proceedings, including two successful applications before the Supreme Court of Canada

Community Ties

  • Past Member of the Board of Research and Ethics at Kwantlen Polytechnic University
  • From 2004-present Pro bono legal work for the Langley Chapter of the Salvation Army
  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Fort Langley Community Association
  • A longtime participant in the Langley equestrian community
